Suspect Indicted in Ciudad Juarez Homicide Case
Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico – April 8, 2026 – The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women Victims of Crime Due to Gender and Family Reasons (FEM) announced that a Control Judge has issued an indictment against Víctor Hugo L. J. He is identified as the probable perpetrator of an armed attack that resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to a man.
The suspect faces charges of aggravated homicide and attempted aggravated homicide. These charges are related to a violent incident that occurred in late March in the southern part of Ciudad Juarez.
Details of the Attack
According to the investigation file presented by the Public Ministry, the crime took place on the afternoon of Monday, March 30. The victims were traveling in a gray Hyundai Elantra in the Nuevo Hipódromo neighborhood when they were intercepted and attacked with firearms.
A woman, identified by the initials B. L. M. B., died at the scene. Medical examinations revealed she was between 21 and 23 weeks pregnant. The official cause of death was a craniocerebral trauma caused by gunshot wounds.
A man accompanying the woman sustained various injuries but survived the attack.
Arrest and Judicial Proceedings
Víctor Hugo L. J. was arrested by agents of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) on April 5 in the San Antonio neighborhood, pursuant to an arrest warrant. Following a review of the evidence, the judicial authority made the following determinations:

- Investigation Period: Six months were granted for the closure of supplementary investigations.
